Ten Temperaments was commissioned by Swedish Radio 1981 for presentation in the Music Spring Festival 1982

Here we can for those who are familiar with the timbre of Jönssonligan find that the same instrument - the Synclavier II - plays an important role in the composition.

Recorded at the EMI studios with engineer Björn Norén this is a composition which is played throughout, more like a continuation of my 1980 piece Orchestra.

The other piece is Shifting Spirits inspired by the voices of asylum seekers to Sweden 1996.

For some years I worked as a teacher in Swedish at Swedish for Immigrants (SFI)

During that time I had the fortune to meet with people from all parts of the world, people who often had left behind families and dear ones in order to find a better life. It still sticks with me, and the experience is an important cherished part of my life.

The piece was commissioned by the Swedish Radio.

The words are taken out of context, showing anguish, fear and loss easily read in the voices.

In Paris in a newspaper I recently read

"It's a fact that there are more and more foreigners in the world"

Shifting Spirits is referring to the uncertainty whether one would get granted or not - asylum
